Feed the Hungry Campaign

A Partnership of Action Ministries and Bank of North Georgia

The Community Christian Council is excited to support the annual campaign that strives to end hunger in Georgia by distributing food throughout the year via partner networks. A $5 donation will turn into a food box worth $30. This is made possible through partners who donate food at prices much lower than market price. This year's campaign begins October 5 and ends November 6.

Last year, Bank of North Georgia branches raised over $45,000 in donations! This provided an astounding 270,000 meals to families in the bank's service area. The cCc is excited to support the 2015 Feed the Hungry Campaign to make a difference in the lives of families in our area.

To support this campaign, simply bring your money donations to your local branch of Bank of North Georgia. Churches can also participate by raising a special donation and bringing to your local branch.

cCc Receives Impact Grant
We are excited to announce the cCc has received a generous grant from Carroll EMC in the amount of $3,000. This Impact Grant will be used to purchase round and rectangular tables for our resource center, as well as much needed utensils for the kitchen. These supplies will greatly benefit our weekly soup kitchen as well as our annual community events and dinners. We are grateful to Carroll EMC and their support of area organizations and projects whose primary purpose is to improve the quality of life for residents in communities.
Soup Kitchen Offers Weekly Meal to the Community
In addition to the meals being served each Thursday, we will also be providing a soup kitchen which will provide meals to families on Monday evenings. The kitchen will be open from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Volunteers are needed and would be greatly appreciated. The cCc is looking for three cooks to prepare meals between 3:00 - 5:00pm and six servers to be present from 5:00 - 7:30pm to help with serving, fellowship, and clean-up. If you or a group would like to schedule a time to volunteer, please contact Tammy Ward at

Volunteer Spotlight
This quarter we feature a couple that continue to devote countless time and effort to the food bank, Rick and Donna Stafford. Rick spent much of his career as Sales Manager in radio broadcasting for WKNG, and later worked for Verizon Wireless for 13 years. Donna worked for the post office for 22 years before they both retired. Rick is Food Bank Manager for the Community Christian Council. Each week they spend much of their time ordering supplies from the Atlanta Community Food Bank and picking up supplies donated from various donors such as Publix and

They are faithful in helping pack and manage the food boxes which are distributed to local families every Thursday. They selflessly acknowledge they could not do what they do at the cCc without the help of other volunteers. Rick and Donna are both active in the Veterans Association in addition to the Concerned Veterans of America organization. Rick sings in a gospel quartet, and both are devoted to their children and grandchildren. We greatly appreciate Rick and Donna for their hard work and countless hours at the weekly food bank.
