Deadly mosquito-borne diseases

Mosquitoes are one of the deadliest animals in the world. Their ability to carry and spread disease to humans causes millions of deaths every year. Zika, dengue, chikungunyayellow fever, malaria, and West Nile virus are just some of the diseases transmitted by the bite of a mosquito.

More than half of the world's population live in areas where these disease carrying mosquitoes are present.
