Deep Cut
by Philip Ralph

Philip Ralph's play concerns the death of 18-year old Private Cheryl James who was one of four young soldiers to die at Deepcut Barracks between 1995 and 2002 and traces her parents’ struggle to establish the truth behind her death.

Highbury Players were due to present Deep Cut when theatres had to close their doors for the first lockdown. We have created an alternative presentation of the production which is an audio recording of the play, accompanied by images from the final dress rehearsal.

This was first shown in June and we are delighted to have a second chance to present it. We would like to invite you to join us on 4 August at either 2:30pm or 7:30pm and listen to the story and see what the play would have looked like.

Some of the comments we received after the first showing were:

“A wonderful, innovative piece of theatre last night! I could have sat and watched for another hour or more, it was so gripping."

"I wasn't sure what to expect with Deep Cut, indeed I wasn't certain I wanted to see it. However, I have to say it was amazing."

Important Information:

Although the lockdown has been lifted, we have decided to keep some restrictions of our own to help keep you safe.

Bookings are for still for general admission and seating will be allocated when bookings close two days before the event. This is so that we can continue to maintain some distancing. This has been reduced but there will still be at least one empty seat around your party.

You will also be asked to login for test and trace, and are kindly requested to wear face coverings while in the theatre.

The coffee shop and bar will remain closed for the moment due to the restricted space available, but the good news is that ice creams will be on sale.

Tickets available at £5.00
(plus £2.00 membership if applicable)

Book Tickets - Deep Cut

An Audience With David Tristram

We were planning to spend a delightful evening listening to the confessions of that marvellous comedy playwright David Tristram on 6 August. However, the need to continue operating Covid-19 restrictions means that this is being postponed.

Please look out for future announcements about the re-scheduled date.
