Thank you to all of those parents who attended the presentation evening of ‘Our Shared Vision’. An Elmhurst School Development Plan brochure was handed out during that evening outlining the vision for the future of the school. If you were unable to attend and would like to have one of these brochures, they are available in the front entrance or from the office. I hope that you are all enthused about the fact that we are successfully moving forwards with ‘The 21 st Century Boy’ at the heart of all that we are doing.
The 4 C’s underpin the development of those 21 st century skills within our lessons and they are apparent in all areas of the curriculum.

Thank you to all the Little Elms parents who braved the rain, cold and even hail to attend our Parent and Son Forest School day. I think you will all agree the boys had a wonderful time going on their ‘Wild Thing’ adventure and making Wild Thing Mud Monsters.

Year 1 learn about
Last Tuesday, Year 1 went to the Science Museum to support our work in “Materials”. We looked at objects made out of different materials, and discovered why these materials were used. We also looked at Amy Johnson’s plane which reminded us of our work in ‘Topic’ last term.

Reception look for signs
Reception have been looking for signs of Spring at Forest School. On our walk to camp we heard increased bird song. The trees have new buds, Spring flowers are around and Bluebells are getting ready to bloom. The boys made dens, made delicious food in the mud kitchen and helped light the fire for a hot chocolate.
Year 2 boys make Mum
Medals for Mother’s Day
Year 2 boys have enjoyed the start of warmer Spring weather. The Forest School Code of Trust, Respect and Teamwork has continued to encourage co-operation and collaboration, with boys completing a rope challenge successfully. They have been introduced to new tools and used the bow saw and palm drills to make Mum Medals for Mother's Day.
Pupil Survey Results
Our pupils are the most important members of our school community. Further to the ongoing conversations we have with the boys about their experience at school, we have developed an online survey to enable us to capture genuine pupil views. Pupils in Years 2 to 6 recently completed the survey. Read a summary of the survey results.
