Wishing Mr. South a speedy recovery !

As you are aware, Mr. South has not been with us for the last few weeks as he has been advised to rest at home. Thank you everyone for all your kind words and I know you join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

On the run up to half term all the boys have been consolidating their learning, with Reception and Year 1 visiting the Coombe Cross building site this week, brimming with excitement to be wearing their 'Bob the Builder' high visibility vests and hard hats! Year 6 have visited Sainsbury's in Selsdon with their £100 budget to feed a family of four for a week...it is not as easy as it might seem. Year 2 have their trip to 'Bread Ahead' on Monday and Year 3 their trip to the British Museum on Wednesday. Thank you once again to the EFA for their generous contribution.

So far this term they have created watercolour paintings of animals native to Madagascar, in the style of the artist Miroco Machiko; Table Mountain paintings in the colourful style of The Fauvists and the cichlids from lake Malawi in the style of Paul Klee’s “The Golden Fish”.

Years 5 & 6 enjoy Technical Drawing

In Art, both Year 5 and Year 6 have been working on completing a technical drawing with two points of perspective: a very difficult challenge as it requires attention to detail and logical processing.  Whilst still a work in progress, you can see these fantastic drawings come to life.  We hope to include them in our building project that the whole school is working on.

Extremely cold winter days at Forest School

Year 5 have enjoyed some beautiful, dry but extremely cold winter days at Forest School this term. Reception and Little Elms have also continued their Forest School adventures this term and it is wonderful to see some of the quieter boys really coming out of their shells in this exciting environment.

The U11’s Perform with ‘grit’!

The Under 11 Football team have demonstrated clear improvements in their performances in the last two fixtures. Firstly, Elmhurst was invited to St. David’s School to participate in a 6-a-side friendly game. Traditionally, St. David’s have had strong football sides at U11 level and always provide us with an excellent challenge.
