AS WE BEGIN THE 15TH WEEK OF OUR LIGHT CHASERS SPIRIT OF PAINTING CONTEST, WE HOPE YOU ARE ALL FINDING INSPIRATION TO "STAY IN THE PAINT!"
IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO FIND THAT SPECIAL VIEW OR SUBJECT THAT MOVES YOU TO PICK UP YOUR BRUSHES AND CREATE SOMETHING UNIQUELY YOUR OWN, BUT THAT IS THE FORCE THAT DRIVES US ALL AS ARTISTS. SO KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR WHATEVER CALLS TO YOU TO CREATE YOUR NEXT MASTERPIECE!
THE PAINTING CHOSEN AS BEST PAINTING OF THE 14TH WEEK OF THE LIGHT CHASERS SPIRIT OF PAINTING CONTEST IS:
"LOW COUNTRY SHRIMP BOATS"
BY LYDIA KAEYER
14" X 21"
Congratulations to Lydia for her striking depiction of shrimp boats in the low country. The distinctive slanting of the outrigger booms and nets create excitement and movement in the scene. The softer surrounding colors of the foreground grasses, middle ground landscape and the overhead skyscape keep your eye focused on the boats. The simplicity of the rendering gives the painting a modern almost abstract quality. Sunny highlights dance across the huddled boats as they wait to go out to the Gulf again!
Lydia's painting will be entered into the final challenge at the end of the contest.
