SPOTLIGHT ON THE LIGHT CHASERS 4TH ANNUAL SHOW -- FEBRUARY 27, 2015 TO MARCH 1, 2015
2015 WAS THE FIRST YEAR WE HAD OUR SHOWS AND EVENTS AT PHILLIPPI ESTATE PARK.
THE 4TH ANNUAL MEMBERS SHOW, THE 3RD PAINT SARASOTA PAINT OUT SHOW & THE 2ND MASTER ARTISTS/ FEATURED ARTISTS SHOW.
This was also the 1st year for our Light Chasers Quick Draw contest at the Phillippi Farmers Market. At the Edson Keith Mansion we had six beautiful rooms to display all our paintings in and all our show committees rose to the challenge of creating an amazing art show in this beautiful venue for all to enjoy!
The Theme that year was the Celebration of the 100 year old Edson Keith Mansion, where the show was held. Japanese Lanterns on Shepherd's Hooks guided your way to the Front Entrance of the Mansion. As you strolled from room to room, you were able to view over 170 paintings, while you listened to music from the early 20th century. Abundant Pink, Lavender and Blue Flowers bloomed in large Mercury Glass Vases. Parlor Palm Trees in Lattice Boxes decorated the rooms and added to the feeling of 100 years ago.
The Terrace outside was also lighted by Japanese Lanterns and three large tables, benches and flowerpots full of colorful blooming flowers, welcomed guests to take a break and view the Phillippi Creek as it flowed by the grounds.
The Amazing Raffle Painting, as seen below, was donated that year by Light Chasers Master/ Featured Artist Bill Farnsworth.
This was the 1st year we had awards for the Annual Members Show to the delight of the Light Chasers Members. The Delicious Food and Wine that were served in the Library area, just added to the enjoyment of the two evenings of the Shows. We had over 2000 people attend all our Shows and Events that year.
We hope you enjoyed this stroll down memory lane or learned about how our Shows and Events came to be.
This year marks a big change in the way we present our Shows and we are counting on you to make them a Success by your participation!
Our Sponsors have been very generous with prizes this year so there will be more awards than usual.
It has been a very tough year with the pandemic ever prevalent, so send in your very best paintings and create a bright spot of beauty for all to enjoy!
TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE AND STAY WELL AND KEEP ON PAINTING!
