GREETINGS ARTISTS:

A beautiful breezy Day greeted our artists at Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex in Sarasota for last Thursday's paintout. Plenty of Sun & Shadows to keep a plein air artist busy painting away for the morning hours.
Below is a wonderful painting by Johan Bjurman
The photos below were taken by Pepsi Freund of the pond at Arlington Park.
It was a great day to get lost in your painting!
Our 2021 Online Annual Members Show & Featured Artists Show will close on Monday, May 31st. This week is your last chance to enjoy the Shows and purchase one of these amazing paintings that are part of our Shows. You can view both Shows on the Light Chasers website at (lightchasersinc.com).
We will be sending out an email in the near future with photos of all our Award Winners & their prizes & paintings as soon as we receive all the photos.
Many thanks again to all members who participated in our 2021 Shows and also to the many people who gave their time & talents to make our 1st Online shows a reality!

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR ARTISTS:

Even in a day with lower humidity & temperature than usual in Florida, you can still become dehydrated very quickly, this time of the year!

SO FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH & SAFETY PLEASE:

1.)  BRING SOME COLD WATER OR GATORADE, ETC. WITH YOU, TO DRINK AT YOUR ACTUAL PAINTING SITE.
DON'T GET SO LOST IN YOUR PAINTING THAT YOU FORGET TO DRINK SOME OF IT EVERY 1/2 HOUR OR SO TO KEEP FROM GETTING DEHYDRATED.

2.)  HEAT EXHAUSTION CAN SNEAK UP ON YOU VERY QUICKLY.
BY THE TIME YOU ARE READY TO LEAVE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WALK TO YOUR CAR BECAUSE YOUR ARE FEELING SO LIGHTHEADED & WEAK AND READY TO PASS OUT.
I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, SO I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW IT FEELS.

3.)  PLEASE WEAR A HAT & SUNSCREEN WHEN PAINTING. THE SUN IN FLORIDA CAN BE VERY STRONG THIS TIME OF YEAR.

4.)  AS TEMPTING AS IT MAY BE TO CATCH THAT PERFECT VIEW BY STANDING IN THE SUN, PLEASE DON'T. FIND A SHADY SPOT TO SET UP YOUR EASEL IN.
YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID WHEN THE SUN RISES OVERHEAD AND IS AT IT'S STRONGEST AND HOTTEST.

5.)  ALSO PLEASE OBSERVE THE CDC RECOMMENDATIONS IF YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED.
WEAR A MASK & PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
WE ARE NOT OUT OF THIS PANDEMIC YET, SO BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR FELLOW ARTISTS, SO WE CAN ALL KEEP ON PAINTING FOR MANY MORE YEARS!

These seem like very simple safety precautions to take, but when you get inspired to paint something, you forget to be careful and think you will be fine, but that is
not always the case.

SO TAKE CARE & STAY SAFE & STAY WELL & KEEP ON PAINTING!
