We begin the 11th week of our Light Chasers
SPIRIT OF PAINTING CONTEST with a
NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGE
For next week's submissions our SPEICAL CHALLENGE is to
"PAINT AN INTERIOR ROOM OR VIEW"
in your house or else where!!!
Only paintings with this subject matter will be accepted for the Sunday, November 1st, Spirit of Painting Contest.
Let's see how many of you can rise to the Challenge and send in some AMAZING interpretations of an INTERIOR.
THE PAINTING CHOSEN AS BEST PAINTING FOR THE 10TH WEEK OF THE LIGHT CHASERS SPIRIT OF PAINTING CONTEST IS:
BY SUSAN SAPANARA
9" X 12"
CONGRATULATIONS TO SUSAN FOR HER GRACEFUL RENDERING OF A STATELY TREE AND THE PEACEFUL LANDSCAPE THAT SURROUNDS IT.
HER USE OF DARK COLOR VALUES IN THE TREE AND THE SHRUBS AND THE SHADED AREAS FOCUSES YOU EYE ON THE FOREGROUND, WHILE THE LIGHTER, DECREASING VALUES IN THE MIDDLE GROUND GIVE A DEPTH OF VIEW TO THE PAINTING.
THE SOFT BRUSHWORK CONVEYS THE DREAMY QUALITY OF THE ATMOSPHERE TO THE VIEWER.
YOU CAN VERY EASILY IMAGINE YOURSELF SITTING IN THE SHADE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL TREE AND GAZING DOWN THE HUDSON RIVER TO THE MISTY HILLS THAT GENTLY TOUCH THE HORIZON.
SUSAN'S PAINTING WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE FINAL CHALLENGE AT THE END OF THE CONTEST.
