Bridging the Hunger Gap, our MLK Day event that occurred on January 19, 2015, was a huge success! Over 160 volunteers attended two service projects and contributed 486 hours of volunteer service.

The reusable grocery bags, that were filled with non-perishable items that day, were transported and stored at KAM Appliances in Hyannis until February 11, when ACC members completed the project. They filled the bags with perishable food items and helped deliver them to the 200 children in Barnstable and Mashpee before the forecast for snow could cause delays.
As the big event came to an end at YMCA Camp Lyndon, AmeriCorps Cape Cod members and staff, joined by YMCA Cape Cod staff, MassLIFT AmeriCorps members and staff, and a couple of Highland Street Corps Ambassadors AmeriCorps members sat for a group photo.
At the Cape Abilities Farm in Dennis, a handful of AmeriCorps Cape Cod members, MassLIFT AmeriCorps, and a Massachusetts Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA member pose together at the end of the day.
