  Making Things Last

Let's Do Net Zero

Climate change and nature loss are the greatest threats facing the world’s population. We are committed to public engagement supporting steps we can all take towards a Net Zero Scotland and encouraging practical action in all our churches to become carbon neutral.

Eco-Congregation Scotland thanks you for your continuing support of our activities and events. We now look forward to engaging in-person, while continuing our programme of online meetings enabling participation in environmental action throughout Scotland during this vital year hosting the
COP26 climate conference.

From local
Climate Conversations to training workshops like Making Things Last - or worship with our Eco-Chaplain to campaigning for a just and green future - please get in touch with our team to support and link with your own church and community.

Four-fifths of the carbon footprint generated by Scotland comes from the products and materials we use. Is recycling the answer or is there another alternative?

We are delighted to welcome a key partner Miriam Adcock of
Zero Waste Scotland for this informative and interactive session. Come along to our workshop to discuss some easy steps we can all take to make a difference. Please register now to join us on Saturday:

Creation Calls the Tune 2
Thursday 26 August 2021, 7.30pm

https://ecocongregationscotland.org/event/creation-calls-the-tune-part-2/

It’s often said that our faith is shaped by what we sing, so in this time of climate crisis it’s increasingly important that we sing songs which connect with creation and the environment.

This Zoom event will be led by songwriters and musicians, and introduce songs which we can sing in church during
Creation Time, in the lead up to COP26 and all year round.

We will hear from John Bell of the Iona Community, Joel Payne from Resound Worship and the Church of Scotland's Iain McLarty about songs in a range of styles, and from across the world, which we can sing and the stories behind them.

All are welcome – no musical experience required!
