Volunteer Board Support

We are offering a maximum $250 per community to assist recreation  boards to send their volunteers to the 2015 Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association Conference in Yorkton October 22-24, 2015.

Volunteer Recruitment & Retention Workshop 

This workshop will be delivered by Kimberly Quam who is a highly regarded speaker, consultant and educator within the field of volunteer administration. The workshop will focus on:

  • Volunteer Screening
  • Engagement
  • Recruitment
  • Retention
  • Appreciation

Learn how to find the right people and keep the volunteers that you get. You will leave with a workbook of tools and resources.

Lunch will be provided and mileage can be claimed for one vehicle per community.

A program for older adults where you can enhance your social, recreational and physical activity and maintain a quality of life and  independence while expanding your active living opportunities.

New Peer Leaders learn how to lead and facilitate a successful Active Aging program in your community. At the Peer Leader Refresher session you’ll refine your leadership skills, learn all the new movements and brainstorm ways to motivate and keep Active Aging participants engaged.

2015 Golden Sheaf Awards Tours

The Yorkton Film Festival is excited to announce that their 2015 GSA Tours are ready to come to your community! The GSA tours are made up of winners, nominees, and entries to this year's Yorkton Film Festival and represent a broad scope of interests and age groups.
This year's GSA Tours include:

  • Films to Promote Discussions
  • On the Light Side
  • Nature and Environment

  • Children's and Youth

Culture Days raises the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The sixth annual Culture Days  will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their communities. There are a variety of activities happening in communities around the District.
