Parkland Valley's
Reading Pick of the Month

July 2022

Summer’s here!

Even if the beginning of the season has been a wet one, kids still want to get outside and enjoy their time off from school.

If you weren’t able to get your kids into a summer camp or need a little help to plan and create some fun at home, we’ve come across a ‘DIY Summer Camp’ activity plan for busy families courtesy of Active for Life.

With 8 weeks of ideas including games, activities, arts and crafts and book recommendations, there’s sure to be something for families to explore together, but best of all, work best for YOU!

You can expect the activities to help focus on developing skills, boosting confidence and there's even suggestions on how to adapt games for younger children and different abilities.

Ideas suggested include Make Your Own Monster Feet, Bottle Bowling and a Pool Noodle Sprinkler.

Parkland Valley encourages you to visit Active for Life’s ‘8 Weeks of Fun Summer Activity Plans for Kids’ and try some of their suggestions.
