CQ University are looking for participants for a study on the impact of emotional intelligence on burnout and job satisfaction in Australian legal practitioners. If you would like to have your say, check out the details below.

Remembering Ms Dhu: Incarceration of Indigenous Women
Join us for a panel discussion about incarceration rates of Aboriginal women, 25 years since the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. Our esteemed presenters are: 
  • Meena Singh, Associate Director, Aboriginal Services, Victoria Legal Aid.
  • Dr Thalia Anthony, Associate in the Faculty of Law, University of Technology, Sydney.
  • Annette Vickery, Deputy CEO, Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service.

Resourcing Yourself: Professionally and Personally 
VWL invites you to a discussion on the dynamics and profiles of clients who are often at their most vulnerable, and the fact that lawyers find themselves navigating issues without the social scientist background or skills. With presentations by:

VWL, in support of the Law Council of Australia, invites you to attend the 2016 Women in Law Breakfast. Join the panel of leading lawyers as they share their insights into career paths, the role of women in our profession and the future for women in law.

PROJECTS
Research on Emotional Intelligence
CQ University is undertaking a study on the impact of emotional intelligence on burnout and job satisfaction in Australian legal practitioners. The purpose of the research is to gain a better understanding of emotional intelligence as a facilitator of well-being.

The research will be conducted through a confidential and anonymous online questionnaire, taking approximately 15-20 minutes. Participants will also be able to see the results once it has been completed. 

Eligible participants must hold a law degree and currently work as a legal practitioner in Australia. 
Participation is entirely voluntary. If you would like to participate, visit this site.


The Warren Moot - Mock Trial and Round 1
Registrations for the Warren Moot, endorsed by Chief Justice Marilyn Warren of the Supreme Court, have now closed.

Teams will begin participating in a mock trial on Monday 15th August 2016, with Round 1 following on Tuesday 23rd August 2016.
