Dear 2017 Roundup Participant,

With only 8 days to go until the 2017 Teys Australia Angus Youth National Roundup begins we thought we would remind you of some important information: The Teys Australia Angus Youth National Roundup will be held from the 12th to the 15th January, 2017 at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds, SA.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR EMAIL SYSTEM WAS DOWN OVER THE CHRISTMAS AND  NEW YEAR BREAK, SO PLEASE RE-SEND ANY EMAILS THAT YOU MAY HAVE SENT TO ME DURING THIS TIME.

The entry fee that you have already paid covers all participants meals throughout the Roundup, your ticket to the Special Dinner Dance and Auction, a competitors t-shirt to be worn on the Saturday during cattle judging and a drink bottle.

Registrations for the 2017 Teys Australia Angus Youth National Roundup will commence at 12:00pm on Thursday 12th January. Any additional meal passes, Special Dinner Dance tickets or shirts that you may have purchased will be available to pick up at registrations. Please note that lunch will NOT be provided on Thursday.

Program
The 2017 Angus Youth National Roundup Committee have put together a fantastic program that has something for everyone. To see what you will be doing during the Roundup CLICK HERE.

Please note that the educational program on the Friday is still being finalized and is subject change. 
Cattle Arrivals
Cattle can arrive at any time on Thursday morning.

Cattle will not be allowed to leave before the conclusion of the Roundup unless prior approval has been given by a committee member. We will endeavor to finish by 2pm on Sunday 15th. 

If you are travelling long distances and need to arrive the day before (Wednesday 11th) or stay the night after (Sunday 15th), please contact Mark Fairlie on 0428 849 622. 
Hay
Please note PIRSA has biosecurity restrictions in place for those bringing hay from Queensland and some parts of Victoria. Please CLICK HERE and HERE to learn more about this. Hay from these areas needs to be accompanied by a Plant Health Certificate or a Plant Health Assurance Certificate. For further details please contact PIRSA on 08 8207 7820.

It should also be noted that anyone from QLD or restricted areas of Victoria buying hay will need to keep a receipt as proof of origin of purchase, otherwise it may be confiscated.

Hay will be available for purchase at the showgrounds at a very reasonable rate. Please contact Mark Fairlie on 0428 849 622 prior to the Roundup should you require hay for your cattle.
Special Dinner Dance & Auction
The Special Dinner Dance & Auction is on Saturday the 14th January, 2017. Starting at 6:30pm, guests will enjoy a two course meal featuring Teys Certified Premium Black Angus Steak, an auction to raise funds for Angus Youth, guest speaker, Bruce Creek and entertainment at the conclusion of the formal part of the night. It will be held in the Main Hall at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds.

Participants entry fee covers their ticket, but parents and friends are encouraged to attend the SDD. If extras wish to attend, please contact the Angus Australia Office on (02) 6773 4622 for more details. 
Ticket prices are:
  • Adults $50.00
  • Child (under 12) $24.00
NB: A limited amount of tickets will be available after the 1st January, 2017. Tickets will not be available at the door. To secure a place please book early.

All food allergies and intolerances must be known in advance

Accommodation
For those not staying on the Showgrounds, different options are available; For those who will be staying on grounds;
  • There are separate boys and girls sleeping areas. A parent supervisor will be located in each area.
    • All children under 16 years of age sleeping on the showgrounds will need a parent/guardian present.
  • The Mount Gambier Show Society also has powered sites available.

Catering
The Caterers have put together an amazing menu, which will satisfy everyone. Parents and friends have the option of also eating with the participants. Extra tickets can be bought during the event at the following prices;
  • 4 day meal ticket $170.00 (includes Special Dinner Dance ticket)
  • 4 day meal ticket $120 (excludes Special Dinner Dance ticket)
  • 1 meal ticket - price will vary dependent on meal
All food allergies and/or intolerances must be known before the Roundup commences. This is to ensure we can cater appropriately for each individual’s allergies/intolerances.
