September 21, 2021
There has been a great showing of kindness and support over the last few weeks.  I have seen pictures of our seniors and cheer team working with our St. Gregory students.  The CRU has been present at sporting events “loud and proud” in support of their classmates to just name a few.  My prayer is that this is not “just for now but for always,” and we carry this spirit through the remainder of the school year.  Thank you to our students for providing a great example for all of us. God bless. ~ M. Schick, Interim Principal
Prayer Requests
Please pray for God's healing love for John Johnson (beloved grandfather of three students in our Tyler Catholic school family) and Michael Mahfood (beloved grandfather of six students in our Tyler Catholic school family).
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Classes will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 7th, and there will be no classes on Friday, October 8th, to allow time for Parent/Teacher conferences.  Students should plan to attend conferences with their parents. Conferences will be scheduled using "Meet the Teacher" beginning September 27. More information to follow.
Upcoming Student Opportunities
We encourage all of our students to find ways to get involved.  Here are some upcoming opportunities to shine as faith-filled leaders, journalists, cinematographers, and thespians!
  • Ambassadors: All high school students have the opportunity to apply to participate throughout the community in various service, public relations, and networking activities as a Gorman ambassador.  Applications are due October 1.  (CLICK HERE for more information)
  • BG 24 Hour Video Festival: BG high school students are invited in teams of up to four people to harness their creativity in the art of filmmaking for our first 24 hour video competition.  Register by October 7!  All are invited to walk down the red carpet on Sunday, October 10, as we gather in the cafeteria to watch selected submissions and award prizes for the top three films.  (CLICK HERE for flyer)
  • The Lance:   Did you know that we are bringing back the student newspaper? The Lance is going digital, and high school students are invited to a special informational meeting on Thursday, September 30, in the library during advisory to learn how you can become a contributing writer or photographer.  A special guest will be joining us. Hint: she is a writer for the Wall Street Journal!  Middle school students may also contribute articles. (CLICK HERE for flyer or contact Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander ( for more information.)
Coffee with the Principal
We invite you to join Mrs. Schick on Friday, October 1, at 8:10 a.m. in the Holy Family Library for Coffee with the Principal, an ongoing opportunity on the first Friday of each month to hear about the exciting things going on at our school!
Helper Helper: Our New Way to Coordinate & Track Service Hours
We have adopted a new software application that will make tracking service hours much easier. The App is called Helper Helper and is accessible from your phone or computer desktop.  All BG parents should receive an invitation to join Helper Helper this week, and our students will be brought online later this fall.
Our BG seniors and cheerleaders visited St. Gregory for a Future Crusader Pep Rally on Friday!  Each St. Gregory class "adopted" seniors to pray for and encourage throughout the year.  After the pep rally, the seniors visited with their classes and did fun crafts and activities.
