Hello July!

Hello <<voornaam>> and hello July,

The summer is here, the year 2017 already half on its way. How time flies! During my pre-summer holiday in France I found some time to reflect on my business strategy. I've decided to explore the wallpaper market this coming year. It's exciting to design for a (relatively) new market. Luckily I found some companies willing to let me participate in their wallpaper pitches, which gives me a lot of information on what consumers (you and me!) are looking for.

Summer evenings in the Netherlands can get a bit chilly, so I was very pleased to see what pretty summer plaids my client Bunzlau Castle came up with. They're soft, keep you warm and they have my floral pattern on it. The plaids come in three different colours. If you live abroad you can order them in the online shop. If you live in the Netherlands, you can find them in stores over here.

Whenever you go on holiday in June you're in for a big surprise upon return. New flowers have suddenly appeared everywhere in an exploded garden, like these papaver somniferum showed up in my garden. They don't last very long but they are so beautiful, and I just had to draw them. I'm using them in wallpaper designs because I truly believe that everybody loves poppies.

Although I'm focusing on the wallpaper market, it doesn't mean I'm not designing for fabric, bedding or ceramics anymore. (Not in the slightest.) June was also the month of the roses in my garden, I've used this white ones for a fabric design
