City of Toronto Tennis Survey:
Your Opinion Really Counts!

For those who were not aware, the City of Toronto owns and oversees the courts on which 59 community clubs (like Lawrence Park) and 118 public courts operate across the city.  In order to better serve their communities, the City has just started conducting a consultative review regarding community clubs and tennis court usage. They are inviting all residents, players and non-players, club members and non-members, to attend open meetings and to complete an online survey. This is our opportunity to voice our opinion and provide the City with proper feedback about tennis in Toronto, so I urge everyone to get involved and participate in the survey (link below). It will only take 5-10 minutes to complete.

Just to clarify two points that may be confusing when you start the survey: 1) LPTC is considered a “community club,” not a “public club;” 2) Community clay court clubs are not required to provide the public with four hours of court time per day—only hard court clubs have this requirement.

The press release regarding this process is copied below. I urge everyone to read it and complete the survey, and if you’re really interested, attend any of the four meetings mentioned in this news release. Your opinion really does count; please participate and have an effect on the future of your club.
