Junior Member Update:
Opening Day/Spring Lesson Sign-Up

It's that time of year--the cold and snow have finally left and tennis season is fast approaching. We are currently preparing the courts for our Opening Day on May 2nd and wanted to remind you to come join in all the activities that day for our Junior members. In addition, those parents who signed up their kids for spring lessons need to choose which day of the week they prefer. Fall lesson registration will be sent out in August. For more information, read on.
Weather permitting, Opening Day for our Junior members runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on the courts with the pros. Tennis, fun, games, refreshments, and prizes will all be part of the action.

This will be a great opportunity for your kids to meet other junior members, the pros--Joe and Edward--and maybe find some hitting partners.

Remember our dress code requires whites only and proper clay court tennis shoes. Please have your kids bring a water bottle to help them keep hydrated. And following our Junior Opening Day tradition..... parents will be invited onto the courts to hit with the kids. If you want in on the action, remember to bring your tennis racquet plus white tennis attire and proper clay court shoes as well.

Rain date is May 3rd.
When you submitted your child's application for membership, you were asked if you wanted lessons in the spring, fall, or both. For those who chose lessons in the spring, it is now time to register your child(ren) using the Junior Lesson Sign-Up Form. Please choose which day(s) and time(s) your child(ren) are available for the one hour weekly lesson. Lessons start the week of May 4th and will be held Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday or Thursdays at either 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm.

Please complete and submit this form by Friday April 24th.
New Junior Program Director
We welcome Tim Dalton to the LPTC Board as the Junior Program Director.
The position has been vacant for several months so everyone is pleased that Tim has agreed to join us and contribute to this important role. He will be assisted by Cal Reaume, Andrew Sulkowski, and Aurelia Zvan on a junior advisory committee. They are looking for other parents to join them to help the junior program grow. As parents of junior members they bring lots of energy and ideas to the table and they have a vested interest in its success. The program will only be as good as the people who run it so we hope other parents will volunteer to help Tim. If you have any questions or suggestions, you may send them to Tim at, but beware... he'll probably ask you to help!

New Code of Conduct
One of our first priorities this year was to revamp and update the Club’s Code of Conduct. We strive for a respectful and safe environment both on and off the court, so that all members and guests can use and enjoy the club’s facilities to the fullest extent. To reinforce these values, we have extended the Code of Conduct beyond members to include visitors, guests, parents, and tennis professionals, have specified what is not acceptable behaviour, and included a formal Complaint/Incident Reporting Process. It is all of our responsibility to read and abide by the Code and ensure all members, including junior members, do so as well.

Court Sweeping and Watering
In order to keep our courts in the best shape possible, every weekday and Saturday, courts will be swept at 7 am and swept and watered each afternoon (see schedule on the website and Directory). In the hot summer, as the courts dry out, the dust flies and members have requested that watering be done every afternoon and we agree. Please ensure your kids respect this important activity, and they know to vacate the courts when so requested by our Court Monitor, Tony.

LPTC is Tweeting
Ever wonder if the courts are dry enough to play on after a rainy day/evening? Well now you can find out by checking our website (look on the bottom left on any web page--"Tweets from the courts") and you can follow us at @lptc_courts. We will try to capture and post any late breaking news via Twitter, and, of course, you can still always call the Club at 416-483-2276.
