We are thankful for all the amazing educators and students in our citywide community. We know how relentless you are about making make teaching and learning more meaningful. Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

Join us for MC PD Opportunities

We invite our full community to participate actively in professional development opportunities the Mastery Collaborative is offering this year.

Talking About Race (and Mastery) Trainings

With our partners at Border Crossers, we are looking at dynamics of race and racism and how they affect us, our students, our schools, our society—and our mastery practices. The first 2 sessions are behind us, and they were enlightening. Attendee comments so far: "The linking of these 2 things (racial justice & mastery) was very powerful, and makes mastery grading more valuable in my mind now." "It was most helpful to define race and racism, and to look at it from different perspectives (institutional, interpersonal, internalized)."

We ask everyone in our community to join us for one of these sessions. Space is limited so grab your best date now! Register below, or through your school's MC Launchpad. Please use your MC funding for per diem/per session to maximize attendance. 30 people max per session.  Register here asap to ensure your top choice.

Other Events

Think It Up NYC! Design Challenge December 14. As an MC school, you're invited to send a team of teacher/4 students (age 13+) to compete in a design challenge about how to make school more equitable. First 6-10 schools to register get to attend! There will be support for students to realize their goals—and some cool surprises for participants. thinkitup.org/nyc

Please save MC Quarterly dates for the year, for a team of 3-6 from your school, including school leadership and teachers. These are our only full-community gatherings—our chance to talk shop, cross-pollinate, learn from each other, and share out. We aim for 100% participation.
