I'll Be the Judge of That.
A Group Discussion
The 36th Three Rivers Film Festival will once again feature a competitive short film program.  Pittsburgh Filmmakers received 91 submissions--over 18 hours of media--from all over the world, and now has the task of selecting about two hours of great material.  For the last six weeks, several Doc Salon members and others have been diligently screening and judging every submission. Some of the work got unanimous approvals; most of it didn't make the cut.

And some of the films drew divided opinions. That's where YOU come in.

This month we screen the in-betweeners, the oddballs, the fine-but-flawed, the love-it-or-hate-it, the controversial, the puzzling.  After each film we'll have a brief debate and try to come to consensus on whether it belongs in the Festival or not.

Note:  this year's 3RFF shorts program focuses on the cinematic treatment of reality.  That is, we're interested in documentaries, films based on true stories, and fiction in the realist tradition.  That's how the Doc Salon got involved in this messy business!
