CFED’s I’M HOME Conference – NMHOA is a national partner in CFED’s Innovations in Manufactured Homes (I’M HOME) network.  The 12th Annual Conference brings together affordable homeowners, housing developers, lenders, policymakers, industry experts, community organizers and more. This year’s conference is being held at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, November 14 thru Wednesday, November 15.  You can learn more about I’M HOME and the conference:
Study: Poor-Quality Mobile Homes Exact Huge Financial Toll on their Low-Income Occupants in Appalachia - Manufactured homes may still be unaffordable for many low-income residents, according to a report by the Virginia Center for Housing Research (VCHR) at Virginia Tech. The study looks at the manufactured housing landscape in the Appalachian regions of Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia, finding that manufactured home residents are more likely to be cost burdened and that high utility bills are a major driver of housing costs.
Members only – please keep in mind that NMHOA members receive an additional eblast every month – i’mPOWERED -this is an educational publication with useful information related to board governance, health and safety reminder for manufactured homeowners, and other helpful articles. There is also a Did You Know section and an Ask Dave section – so if you have questions about anything related to manufactured home living and you are a member of NMHOA, please do not hesitate to contact Dave: with your burning question. A membership form is attached for your convenience.
Last words for September 2016 – Congratulations to Golden State Manufactured-Home Owners League (GSMOL) on passage of AB 587, which was signed by Governor Jerry Brown in September.  The bill creates an abatement program for mobile home residents who cannot transfer title into their names due to delinquent taxes and fees that may have been incurred by prior owners.
