Welcome to our July Newsletter

Fund raising in the community | Day Camp Success |  Meet Monika

It seems that everybody has been shivering their way through July - but luckily we have been bustling with activity to keep warm until Spring. Can you believe that our third term started on the 18th of July? Another year that is flying by so quickly!

It's not Goodbye - It's See You Later!

On a bitter sweet note this month, we send off Tom Jones our board President who is setting off on a new adventure over east. We can't thank Tom enough for his hard work and dedication to our centre for the last five years, leading our team of board members to ensure that the CTRC continues for years to come. Tom will remain on the board to oversee the building of our new website and digital data collection system - continuing his support for us via correspondence!

Fortunately, we have Xander Van der Bleus who is up for the challenge to fill the presidential shoes. Xander is stepping up from his secretary position on the board to lead and we are extremely grateful for him to volunteer his time with us!

CTRC Day Camps

Our day camps were once again a huge success - and we had an absolute ball spending our days with these cool riders. The day camps are a great way to get the kids active during the school holidays and excited about the great outdoors. Check out how photogenic our riders are below!

Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding our October and December camp dates - we will let you know in the newsletter and our Facebook page.

Meet Monika Magalengo

"I’ve been riding at the centre for as long as I can remember and have always ridden in the Saturday lessons with M’liss’ daughter, Hannah. Over the years I began volunteering my time and soon became part of the furniture and as a result still spend most of my spare time helping at the centre.

It’s definitely become a home away from home and everyone is like family. We work hard to keep our clients happy but we certainly always have time for a bit of fun. The Henry’s have taught me everything I know and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to become an active member of the show jumping competition scene whilst also being able to gain experience riding a number of different horses.

When I’m not on a horse I can usually be found either in the arena assisting with lessons, teaching people of varying abilities as well as making sure everything is running smoothly. I really can’t thank the centre enough for being what it is and for always being such a wonderful place for all to learn and enjoy."
