115 Additional Officers Confirmed

I promised I would ensure our police force has the resources needed to keep our communities safe, and was able to deliver this when my budget proposals were confirmed by the Police and Crime Panel.

Cyber Crime Prevention for Vulnerable Adults 

I've invested in training to help not only protect vulnerable individuals within our communities becoming targeted by those involved in cyber-crime, but take their skills and fill a gap in cyber-security.

VIDEO: In the last year 49 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking offences were reported in West Mercia, with this number expected to increase by around 20% in the coming year. I have reaffirmed my commitment to victims and brought together key professionals to take action.

Along with West Mercia Police and the National Anti-Trafficking and Modern Slavery Network I invested in a conference to not only raise awareness and map current activity, but to provide opportunities to share best practice leading to local action.

Partners from a range of sectors pledged to do everything in their power to keep West Mercia safe from modern slavery and human trafficking.

New CCTV for Telford & Wrekin
I am investing £245,000 in a new state of the art CCTV network in Telford & Wrekin that will enable our police to better respond to live incidents.

Mini Police Officer Rollout Continues
My mini police officers continue to prove popular as a way of improving road safety around local schools. This month they have been in use at new schools.

New Drugs Strategy for West Mercia
I am proposing a new approach to tackling drug abuse in West Mercia.

First SmartWater Industrial Estate
I am part funding the rollout of SmartWater to every corner of West Mercia to help protect homes and businesses from crime. This week Stafford Park became the first SmartWater industrial estate.

Identifying and tackling the root causes which cause people to go missing, is vitally important not only to keep vulnerable people safe, but to reduce the impact that missing people investigations have on police resources and demand. I've welcomed the multi-faceted proactive approach, from the police and a range of partners. Read more in the Worcester News. 
Tackling Serious and Organised Crime
I've welcomed a national strategy which leaves no safe space for serious and organised criminals to operate.
