Dear SPACE Network colleagues,

Welcome to this short summer newsletter!
In this newsletter I will talk to you about:
  • A new agreement
  • Next year’s Conference + call for papers
  • November Project Meeting
  • Vacancies for the Editorial Board
SPACE Network and Bologna Club, an open association of Russian universities have signed a memorandum of agreement during a solemn signature on the Conference about the cooperation between universities and the world of work in Rostov on Don on 8 June. This agreement allows SPACE Network and Bologna Club to enter into a mutually beneficial cooperation. The Memorandum of Understanding is visible for members on Chamilo.

Currently we are already working on the preparations of the 2018 SPACE Network Conference. The next Conference will be held in Kolding, Denmark with our colleagues of the International Business Academy. Some information can already be found on the website, including the call for proposals! The Conference theme will be “Fostering social impact by linking HEI research to entrepreneurship”. For the guidelines and more information about submitting a paper/ poster, go to our website in the following link and click “Guideline full papers”
http://www.space-network.org/event/?Id=900 . The deadline for submitting your paper is Monday, November 17th, 2017 midnight. Over the following months this area will be updated regularly and more information about the Conference will appear gradually.

In expectation of the Conference, we already have a first event coming up in November, i.e. the November Project Meeting. This is a one day meeting, that will take place at the University College Ghent, Belgium, where the 2016 SPACE Network Conference took place. On this day members are welcomed to join us to talk about projects: revive old proposals, present new proposals, merge ideas and make partnerships. More info will soon be available on the website under “Future events”.

Lastly I would like to introduce you to the Journal of Advances in Higher Education (JAHE), an open access journal of the SPACE Network.
The journal pursues the goal of being a vehicle of knowledge transfer of scientific, academic and applied research. Its aim is to provide a forum for teachers, researchers and practitioners to advance the knowledge and practice of all facets of education in higher education, predominantly in the fields of management, business, entrepreneurship, education, tourism, hospitality, communication and languages for specific purposes. This journal accepts works focused on theories, technologies, applications, challenges, practices, cases, examples of good practices. We also encourage the submission of contributions from junior researchers such as master and PhD students as well as cases from teachers and practitioners.

At this moment there are vacant places at the Editorial Board of the journal and so we would like to invite you to consider the possibility of joining this team. We believe that your participation in the review process will contribute to strengthening the scientific research quality of this publication.

As a researcher and academic if you are interested in being part of the Scientific Committee of our journal please reply to this email until 10th August 2017, attaching your CV.
Please contact Teresa Paiva,
tpaiva@ipg.pt, or Anabela Mesquita, sarmento@iscap.ipp.pt , if you have any questions.

Enjoy your summer holidays!

Kind regards,
