As we continue our journey through the 2020-21 school year, we pray for the health and safety of one another.

On September 24th, Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School was announced as a 2020 recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award. The U.S. Department of Education named Mother of Providence an Exemplary High Performing School, recognizing success measured by the standards of state assessments and nationally normed tests. This exciting achievement affirms the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.
Student Council Elections

The Eighth Grade Student Council elections were held on Friday, October 9th. The candidates gave speeches in front of their classmates and teachers. Congratulations to all of our candidates who ran for student council. We trust that they will bring great ideas and represent student interests in a meaningful way throughout the school year!

The following students were elected to the respective positions:
President: Ousman Koita
Vice President: Shannon McGee
Treasurer: Nick Buxton
Secretary: Skylar Kinne
Public Relations: Lucia Perry
Catholic Identity: Maggie O'Hanlon

Thankful For Our Favorite Teachers
Kelly McGee, a student in the Sixth Grade at MPRCS, named Honors Math teacher Mrs. Bachman as her favorite teacher! Kelly talked about how much she enjoyed a recent math class in which Mrs. Bachman took the students outside to the basketball court to do a demonstration about proportions using foul shots as an example. We are grateful for all that our teachers do for the students and the school community as a whole.

The hard work of our students, parents, and faculty and staff continue to drive our ability to offer the option of in-person instruction. We at Mother of Providence are thrilled about how well the safety measures have been executed this year.
Keep up the good work!

Blessing of the Animals
Each year, on or around the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi (October 4th), Catholic communities celebrate the "Blessing of the Animals" to commemorate the love Saint Francis had for animals and all of God's creation. Despite the unfortunate limitations resulting from COVID-19, Father Bell came from Nativity to Mother of Providence on Friday, October 2nd to hold a socially distanced (and adorable) blessing of our Kindergarten and Pre-K students' stuffed animals. We thank Father Bell for the continued spiritual guidance he brings to the students at Mother of Providence.
