LVHN’s Policy Statement for Pregnant Health Care Providers
The CDC recommends that all HCPs who enter the room of a patient with known COVID-19 or persons under investigation (PUI) should adhere to Standard Contact and Airborne Precautions. Pregnant HCPs should follow risk assessment and infection control guidelines for HCPs exposed to patients who are persons under investigation (PUI) or confirmed COVID-19. Effective immediately, the network will limit exposure of pregnant HCPs to patients with confirmed COVID-19 or persons under investigation (PUI), especially during high-risk procedures if feasible based on staffing availability.
We recognize that we are still learning about how this virus acts in many different populations. We are continuously reviewing all CDC recommendations related to health care professionals at high-risk, and we are committed to promptly initiating work restrictions as that guidance is delivered. Therefore, as an update to you, following is LVHNs policy statement for pregnant health care providers (HCPs) based on the latest recommendations.
