1. COVID-19: School Updates

The news about COVID-19 is not only unavoidable but also changing on a daily basis.  Rowville Secondary College will always work to ensure that our community is a healthy, safe one. Our goal is to help contain the spread of the virus to members of our community as best we can. Therefore, in line with departmental guidelines, the school is taking a series of actions. Please visit our website for a list of events we have postponed or cancelled and for the latest government news. We will also send updates through Compass.

2. Student Youth Council Forum

Last Thursday some of our Vice and House School Captains took part in the first session of the Student Youth Council Forum at Keystone in Wantirna. The forum is comprised of four meetings across term 1, 2 and 3 where secondary school students from across the Knox area come together to discuss issues of importance to them and their peers. Students will meet with Kim Wells, Nick Wakeling MP, guest speakers and fellow Shadow Ministers. Students will also go on a tour of Parliament House and be involved in watching Question Time.

Written by Ms. Melissa Evans, Walton House Leader.

3. Medieval Times @RSC

Last week our year 8 students across both campuses stepped back in time and learnt about the Medieval way of life. Experts introduced the classes to clothes, armour and weaponry. Students got to dress up and experience for themselves what it was like to live back then.

4. Great Photos & Feedback @Division Swimming

Last Thursday our students participated in Division Swimming at Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre and here are some of the awesome photos from the day to check out. We also had some outstanding feedback from the SSV Knox Division Coordinator, Ms. Arthur who sent this to our Principal Ms. Kennedy (see below). Well done students, you make us proud!

"Please pass on my appreciation to the amazing students from Rowville who worked tirelessly throughout the day at the Division Swimming today.  They all stepped up in a very big way, taking on extra roles that they were not anticipating, and doing so in a very earnest manner.  There is no way our day could have been successful without their efforts, I am very grateful to them all.  They were a sensational group of young people, who represented your school in an outstanding manner.  I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to work with them all again."
