1. Local Primary Schools enjoy 'Rock of Ages'

On Tuesday 6th August we had close to 300 local primary school students visit the PAC in the morning to watch the full dress rehearsal of Rock of Ages: High School Edition. “It was an exciting day!” said one primary school teacher. “The kids thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was amazing, the dancing, the sets, the cast were all very professional. The show was a full on rock adventure.... And the kids have not stopped singing the 80's songs.” Thank you to Lysterfield Primary, Belgrave South Primary, Rowville Primary and Heany Park for a fantastic day. Visit our Productions Facebook page to meet the cast and see backstage videos. Watch this space for the full story on 'production week' in next week's email.

2. Students visit CBD: Investigation & Scavenger Hunt

On Tuesday 30 July the Intermediate VCAL students from the Western campus headed into the CBD for the day. We visited the Queen Victoria Market to investigate how businesses operate and the OHS issues that may exist in a complex like this. Students were required to collect information about what the stalls were selling, how these were produced and how this process took place. The afternoon was spent completing a scavenger hunt around the city where students tried to find famous people, a piano to play, some Kim Kardashian street art, some local police, and a slide to sit on amongst many other things. The students all enjoyed having to manage their own time, directions and work as a team to try to win the challenge. The teachers team was victorious at the end of the day, perhaps illustrating the competitiveness of a group of Phys Ed teachers.

3. Yr 10's experience new technologies @KIOSC

As part of the Year 10 Careers program, students are expected to participate in a "Careers Taster" conducted at KIOSC (Swinburne TAFE Wantirna). "The purpose of the day is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a series of career orientated workshops which will enhance their knowledge of a variety of industries and encourage them to make more informed decisions relating to program selection later this term. Students experienced Green Trades Horticulture, VR in Healthcare, Visual Merchandising, Electro Technology and Mad Gizmos 4.0." - Ms. Jade Williams, Teacher.
4. Football Champs!

Congratulations to our Junior girls Football team who won Eastern Metropolitan Sports Region last week and will now advance to State Finals. Fantastic achievement girls!
5. Dress up as a movie star!

On Monday our Year 12's held a dress up day and the theme was come dressed as your favourite movie character. "Most of the students got involved and into the spirit. We had some wild, wacky and well known stars making an appearance." - Ms. Claire Jones, Dean of Students.
