2. 2020 Production Shake Up!

Due to the current climate, our planned 2020 Production of Strictly Ballroom – The Musical, has been cancelled and our production team at Rowville Secondary College have developed a new concept for a new show! We will be staging a ‘Variety Show’ featuring numbers from past musicals we have performed at RSC.

This involves splitting our students into smaller groups and having them learn, rehearse and collaborate to put the numbers together via video conference and recording choreography and songs to learn at home. We will relive treasured and cherished moments from Grease, Seussical, Legally Blonde, Hairspray and more.

We know this will be a fantastic show and our hope is to perform this later in the year. We have given much thought into the ‘what ifs’ or restrictions and we do have some ideas up our sleeves to combat these. For now, the show must go on and indeed it will! We cannot wait to share our collaborations and productions with the College and the wider community later in the year. Stay tuned!

Written by Ms. Kacey Hocking, Production Coordinator.

3. Learning at Home #PHOTOS

It's week 5 of remote learning already! Here are some photos and comments from our hard working RSC students at home.

"Home learning made easier with Clixs and Snowy the budgie." - Chayse, Year 7, General Excellence.

"Friday Fun doing Maths at home." - Luke, Year 7, Rowville Sports Academy.

"You get to work at your own pace... and Dad let's you eat frozen berries in class!" - Emma, Year 10.

"I’m really enjoying it. Working from home has allowed me to play to my learner strengths of independence and resilience. All my teachers have been presenting the lesson plans and classwork really well and honestly, I think, if we ever go back to school, it will be really strange." - Jess, Year 11.

"I like the online classes because they are easy to access. I miss my friends though." - James, Year 8.

4. Go RSA Netballers

Watch this video of our Junior RSA Netball students taking their remote coaching very seriously! Check out their hard work, passion and persistence to make sure they complete their drills, training and coaching the very best they can. "I am really impressed with their ability and resilient attitude to getting the job done, well done girls." - Ms. Erin Bell, Netball Coach.  Watch this space for videos of our intermediates and seniors in the coming weeks. Play video on our College Videos page on our website.
5. Year 10 Bakery CAT
