March 2018
Do you hear that?

That's the sound of the buzz beginning to build... just a couple months left until the riveting summer poker season and things are certainly starting to heat up! Will you be in Vegas? I will.... TWICE! More news on that front will follow in next month's newsletter, and you guys will be the first to know 😃

For now, spring is in the air and there's a lot going on here at Cardplayer Lifestyle. This month I marked a full year since starting self-employment and going all-in to work on this site full-time; thankfully, there WILL be a year #2!
We published 17 great new articles in March that we hope you've enjoyed. In case you've missed any, we've listed a sampling of our favorites, below.

Along with my co-host Bruce Briggs, I had the great pleasure of interviewing 2017 WSOP Main Event fourth place finisher John Hesp, on PokerNews' Top Pair Home Game Poker Podcast. One of the most charming poker players I've ever met and spoken with, I can't encourage you enough to have a listen!

In addition, you guys are the first to get a heads up that I've gotten a pretty big exclusive poker scoop, and it will be published on Sunday. I can't reveal more than that right now, but you can expect to be... surprised. Keep your eyes peeled!
Thanks, once again, to this newsletter's official poker tour sponsor, Next Level Poker. In this month's article, tour founder and WSOP bracelet winner Chris "Fox" Wallace wrote a detailed, in-depth essay on the toughness and mental fortitude it takes to be consistently successful at tournament poker. Based on the number of people who've read it thus far and the feedback it has received, I'd say it has a LOT to offer you if you're hoping to improve your mental game.

"RUNNING WELL" 1,000 km charity poker challenge SPECIAL update!

We're back on track and I'm pleased to say that I've run 240km this year so far towards my 1,000km goal for 2018.

As a reminder, this year's beneficiary, Save a Child's Heart (SACH) aims to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children in developing countries. You can learn more about their amazing work in this short video.

About a week ago, I Tweeted a little video and picture of the new running jersey that SACH was kind enough to send me. A couple days ago, I paid a visit to the organization's headquarters here in Israel. Next month, I'll be publishing a feature article about my incredible experience there. For now, here are a couple exclusive pictures:

I'm grateful to have raised $4,300 in pledges thus far thanks to generous individuals like Michael Pagano, Simcha Simon, and Jaime Staples as well as companies like Run It Once and PokerStars.

We're just about halfway towards my 2018 goal of raising $10,000 for this wonderful organization. With charitable endeavors, there's always plenty more room for additional sponsors, so if you or the company you work for would like to make a pledge (all monies donated directly by you), please email me.

As with last year's challenge, you're all invited to follow my progress via Twitter at #charitypoker1000km.

I'm truly honored to have been featured in the latest post on Barry Carter's PokerMediaPro blog, about monetization.

I love poker, and I'm all about producing great content that you guys will hopefully enjoy. That said, I certainly do still need to keep the lights on
😃. Barry's interview with me goes into the background story about that.

As always, your feedback, constructive or otherwise, is most welcome.

Thanks so much for your support and best of luck at and away from the tables!

By George, I Think I’ve Seen My Poker Future!

If you ever get the chance to sit and chat with an older poker player, I highly recommend the experience. I imagine that in all likelihood you’ll find yourself being able to connect strongly, with poker as your common bond.

I recently had such an opportunity, meeting Cardplayer Lifestyle’s Senior contributor, the nonagenarian George Epstein, in Los Angeles. It was a highly enjoyable experience, to say the least.
