Industry networking & learning from The Grand Cinema
Hi film friends,
Lots to look forward to including the 253 Film Summit, Film Camp for Grown Ups and volunteer opportunities!

 - Katy

The first ever 253 Film Summit is May 12, 2018, 10 AM - 4 PM We're partnering with the UWT Film Club and University of Washington Tacoma, who will host us on campus, and featuring workshops and presentations from Washington Filmworks, Smarthouse Creative, and Alma Mater Tacoma.

This event is free-of-charge, but you will need to register to attend and space is limited to 50. Get all the details and register here.  We are very close to selling out but encourage anyone who is interested to join the waitlist. We anticipate letting everyone, including the waitlist, in to the Summit.
We're seeking Summit volunteers for May 12 and for load-out on May 14: you will be able to enjoy the summit as well as help out! Email me if you can help!
Want to brush up on your skills? Have friends you wish were filmmakers but just need a little training? Sign up for our first ever Grown Up Film Camp! Available for one week only this summer, August 20 - 25, 2018.

Just like youth film camp, grown up film camp is production focused: you will work in teams to create short films that you will then share with friends and family at a special screening. Because you are an adult, you will also have the opportunity to check out equipment for hours outside of the program in order to capture additional shots, add production value, etc.
Be prepared for an intergenerational experience, we anticipate "campers" will range from college students, working professionals, and seniors, bringing an incredible diversity of perspectives and experience to your film! Learn more and register here.
It may be 6 months away, but planning for the Tacoma Film Festival is underway. We are seeking volunteers for our film screening team - volunteer your time and expertise to help us review films submitted to the festival. Email Wade if you'd like to help. Additionally, we are now looking for a TFF intern, learn more here.
Take our filmmaker survey and join the Film In Tacoma Google Group; share pitches and projects; look for help and resources.

Grab your tickets for the 253 Short Film Party, our annual celebration of local filmmaking where we enjoy the results of the 253 Short Film Competition (happening this weekend - watch the hashtag #253Seconds to see everyone in action)

Thank you for being a part of our growing filmmaker community - let's make movies!
