Harlem Wizards Fundraiser -- Get Your Tickets Today!
On Saturday, April 22, our Perry Township teachers and staff -- aka Brave Birds -- will unite in a special fundraiser to support our schools.  At 7 p.m., the Brave Birds will report to Southport Fieldhouse and tip-off against the world-famous Harlem Wizards, known for high-flying, interactive shows on the basketball court. The event, presented by Community Health Network, is sure to be a fun-filled event that delights kids and adults.

Tickets are $6 in advance at ptef.org/events, or $8 at the door. Organized by the Perry Township Education Foundation (PTEF), proceeds from the game will support classroom innovation grants.

Don’t miss your chance to watch our Brave Birds “school” the Wizards. For more information regarding the fundraiser or classroom grants, visit ptef.org.

District Art Show
Thanks to everyone who supported night one of the district's 56th Annual Art Show! On Thursday, April 13, crowds packed Perry Meridian High School for the "Chair"ity Art Auction to benefit the Kirsten Richardson Memorial Scholarship. On April 14, Perry Meridian’s Advanced Placement art students will host free art lessons for interested children. It's always a joy to support our young artists!

Cyber Blue Advances to World Championship
Congratulations to Perry Meridian's Cyber Blue Robotics team!
After winning two district events and earning a 10th ranking at the State Championship, they have qualified for the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis on April 26-29.
Wish them luck!
Kindergarten Academy Open House
In July, we will celebrate the grand opening of our four kindergarten academies at Douglas MacArthur, Homecroft, Jeremiah Gray and Rosa Parks elementary schools.

Save the date -- we will host teacher meet and greets for parents on July 26. We will also have public open houses during the week of August 14, so everyone can check out our newest additions.  More details to come!
PMHS Academic Top 40
As the Class of 2017 looks ahead to graduation, we applaud the Perry Meridian High students who are recognized in the Top 40. After years of hard work and intense study, the senior class will earn their diplomas on May 26.

We'd like to extend a sincere thank you to Raymond James for sponsoring a special reception to celebrate the Top 40.
Teacher Spotlight
Lauren Lenox (Rosa Parks) and Dan Bailey (Southport Middle) were featured in our Teacher Spotlight for March and April.

Click here to find out who plays five instruments and who doesn't like cake -- among other fun facts!

We are still accepting profiles. Teachers who haven't already submitted theirs, can click here.
Thanking Our Partners at Franciscan Alliance, Inc.
Thanks to Franciscan Alliance, Inc., for donating supplies and ISTEP treats to Miss Osborn’s fifth grade class at Abraham Lincoln Elementary. The project was spearheaded by Megan McClinn Shelton, who was assigned to Miss Osborn’s class 20 years ago!

Thank you to Franciscan Alliance, Inc., and Megan for showing generosity to our students!

Spotlight Singers Shine
Douglas MacArthur’s Spotlight Singers performed the National Anthem at the Pacers vs. Hornets game. The singers shared a perfect rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner with 14,000 fans. It was a great night for all of the students, parents, and staff!

CyberCards Finish Great Season
Southport High's CyberCards had an exciting season. The team won the Spirit Award at the Tippecanoe District Competition and the Industry Design Award at Perry Meridian. They also earned the Pit Safety Award at Perry and the State Championship in Huntington.
Well done, CyberCards!
"A" Schools Recognized
Congratulations to our elementary schools -- Henry Burkhart, Homecroft, Rosa Parks, and Southport -- that earned an “A” Accountability Grade Rating from the Indiana Department of Education for the 2015-16 school year.

It was an honor to commemorate the occasion with a special banner presentation in front of the entire staff and student body!
SHS Stars Recognized
Congrats to the 2017 graduates of Southport High who are at the top of their class. We are proud of these S.T.A.R.S. for Tackling Academic Rigor Successfully! Join us in cheering on these grads at commencement on May 26!

Thanks to all of the partners who have helped honor these students.
Special Award Recognition
Congratulations to Heather Green, teacher at our Early Childhood Academy. She was awarded the Christine L. Fisher Award at the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children Conference. The recognition is
given to an educator whose exemplary practices embody the application of physical movement, literacy, and art with young children.
Double Duty
Mr. Dave Rohl, Principal at Glenns Valley Elementary, was a "secret guest" scientist in Mrs. Dorris' first grade classroom for Science Friday -- aka Sci Fri. Students learned about solids and liquids and made Oobleck, inspired by the Dr. Seuss book, "Bartholomew and the Oobleck."

"Sci Fri" is made possible by Perry Township Education Foundation's creative and innovative learning grant. We love to see these grants in action!
