 “How do Things Get Built”
In first grade at Homecroft Elementary, students built bird houses after reading “How do Things Get Built” in their Reading series. Thank you to Home Depot for the bird house kits and to the volunteer construction supervisor.
A sixth grade Pre-Algebra class at Southport 6th Grade Academy is doing Tessellations. They learned about translations, rotations, and reflections and the origin of tessellations. Most of the students did translations as their tessellations but there were a few rotations as well. They then put their images on a ceiling tile and will be decorating Mrs. Goodson’s celling with their creations!
