Pledge Leaders at June School Board Meeting
Girl Scouts from Troop 135 opened the June Board of Education meeting by Presenting the Colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance. 
2014-15 Jim and Vivian Leach Volunteer Award Recipient
Congratulations to the 2014-15 Jim and Vivian Leach Volunteer Award Recipient, Mr. Paul Gearhart! He has served the students of Perry Township Schools as a role model/mentor with a listening ear for 3 1/2 decades--since 1981!
Summer Swim Program
Our youngest swimmers are involved in the Perry Township Summer Swim Program. “Learn to swim” Red Cross classes are being held at Perry Meridian High School. This is a great opportunity for children to get comfortable with water and learn swim strokes. The program’s director is Mrs. Lori Beaupre.
Summer School
Our summer schedule began with instruction offered at the secondary and elementary levels.  High school courses include English 10, algebra and physical education; they also have the opportunity to use the Indiana Online Academy.  In addition, 17 classes for a Jump Start Title I Kindergarten program will provide an authentic kindergarten experience for students.  
Winchester Village Elementary Renovations
Preliminary designs and concept for transforming Winchester Village Elementary from an open concept school to a facility secured with walls and doors that lock were shared at the June Public Work Session.

Kindergarten Centers Update
Preliminary designs and locations for the 4 Kindergarten Centers to be constructed in the district is underway.
 IU Honors Study Abroad Program
Emma Arndt from SHS and Rainey Michael from PMHS are representing Perry Township Schools in Chile with the IU Honors Study Abroad Program. They will be immersed in the language (Spanish) and culture for 7 weeks this summer.
Homecroft Elementary's Garden
In a partnership with Southport Methodist Church, produce harvested during the summer break from Homecroft Elementary's garden will be donated to a local food bank.
The SMS cheerleaders are hard at work this summer practicing for their upcoming competitions. Good luck, Cardinals!
PTEF Golf Outing
The Perry Township Education Foundation held their annual golf outing at the Legends Golf Club in Franklin.  The winning foursome from Church, Church, Hittle and Antrim included Brent Borg, Bob Bohannon, Steve Lutz and Craig Bardach.  Funds from the event will support innovative teacher grants in Perry Township Schools.
Summer Staff Development
Summer is a time for our staff to learn and grow! Summer staff development workshops are being offered through July 24th.
Summer Servings
The Summer Servings program runs from June 1 - July 24 (Monday - Friday) and offers free breakfast and lunch to children ages 18 and under.
