“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.” ~ St. Teresa of Ávila

Guidance Prayer for New Ministry
Almighty God, giver of every good gift:
Look graciously on your Church,
and so guide the minds of those
who shall choose a rector for this parish,
that we may receive a faithful pastor,
who will care for your people
and equip us for our ministries;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

An Outline of the Faith/Catechism Class
Thursdays in the SMC Library @ 6-7:30PM
The current group studying the Catechism is scheduled to finish by the end of June. Thereafter, I will be taking a break for the summer. If there is enough interest in a class in the fall, we will reassemble.

Thanks to all who have taken the class and have meditated on and discussed with the class on a deep level the principles found in the Outline of the Faith. I have had a delightful time leading two groups through the fall/winter and winter/spring and reflecting on important ideas within a community.

If you are interested in studying the Catechism / An Outline of the Faith in preparation for baptism, confirmation, reaffirmation or for a deeper understanding of the faith for your own Christian formation, please contact

We will have an EfM Sunday June 23rd - see below for details.
I am tremendously excited to invite you to EfM here at St Mary's Church!
Class will start in September after Labor Day.
Registration will begin on June 23rd.
From the EfM website:
"Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program in theological education based upon small-group study and practice. Since its founding in 1975, this international program has assisted more than 100,000 participants in discovering and nurturing their call to Christian service. EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together."

Please do take a look at the info on the website ( here ) to understand what EfM is about and feel free to ask me any questions that you may have.
(Melody Oliphant - merriemelody39@gmail.com )

Next week, Sunday, June 23rd, the EfM group from St. Stephens that I studied with this year will be joining us for Eucharist,  and Fran Crookston, my mentor from this year, along with Phil Kinchington, the coordinator for EfM within our Diocese, will speak to our congregation about EfM - after services, there will be a table in the Parish Hall where you can ask your questions and pre-register for class. Cost is $375; scholarships may be available for those who need them.

How can those of us not participating in growing crops in the Community Garden help?
1) Composing:
You may notice that we've dedicated Box #9 for composting. Please feel free to dump in any plant-based scraps.
2 ) Donate crops from your home garden:
If you have a garden at home and would like to contribute to Food & Care Coalition, you may donate too!
Donating to Food and Care Coalition:
You can take donations to F&CC yourself during normal business hours (see below) or simply ask at fellowship hour if there's someone who can do a donation run for you.
Donation Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Please deliver your donations at the east entrance past the gate. Deliveries are received anytime gate is open.
No amount is too small to contribute. They will weigh your donation and may hand you a receipt indicating the donation in terms of weight, which is simply there system. St. Mary's would like to keep track of our Community Garden's contribution over the growing season. Please TEXT  Lon at (385) 448-0678 with the weight, however small, after a donation is made. This is one way we show the Diocese that the grant funds they awarded us are continuing to be a positive force in the world.

At St. Mary’s, one of our core values is that “We care about the communities in which we live, and we seek, as individuals and as a congregation, to reach out to others carrying with us the good news of Jesus’ love for us.”
One of our outreach opportunities for service to the community is our relationship with the Food & Care Coalition, where we help feed the hungry among us. We’ve been involved in it for 30+ years, starting in our own Parish Hall kitchen.
Come and volunteer providing lunch to the clients of the Food & Care Coalition.
We can use help in serving food, greeting clients, handing out sack lunches, washing dishes, cleaning up, and engaging in friendly conversation with the clients. (Children under sixteen are welcome to greet guests with an accompanying adult.)
Contact Steve Nordstrom, Erik Heiney, or Stan King through the church office to sign up to help or for more information.
