NEW - TABS video: Training Conference 2016
TABS, in partnership with British Cycling, has recently produced a video showcasing our annual training conference which, in 2016, took place in Leicester.
The video uses footage from this conference to illustrate the value that TABS places on quality training and networking for the Bikeability industry, from individual instructors through to scheme managers.
And the interviews with delegates demonstrates the value they get from attending the conference, as TABS members. To view the video click here.

TABS wrote to Jeremy Vine following his ‘road rage’ experience and invited him to explore how the media communicate about cycling, addressing genuine issues of harm and danger reduction, such as how drivers behave, or what cyclists could really do to minimise risk to themselves. TABS also offered him a Bikeability training session to understand what is involved.
TABS has written to the DfT regarding the recent THINK! campaign targeting urban commuter cyclists. We expressed our concerns with the content and message of the campaign and offered to work wiht the government to amend and develop this campaign to better reflect a message of shared responsibility and mutual respect on our roads. Our full response can be read here.

Pilot workshop - Help beat the funding blues
Many, if not all of us, are facing significant challenges in the coming years to meet the gap between the positive, growing demand for training and the available funding for Bikeability. So, TABS is looking to develop a workshop to help local authorities address this. Our workshop will explore strategies to access alternative funding for Bikeability, both internally and externally, how to achieve greater efficiencies - so your funding goes further - and the benefits and implications of diversifying our cycle training delivery.
We have 12 places on a pilot workshop, which will be in November and last 3 hours. If you would like to participate please email David Shannon or Nick Truran, cc. Isobel Stoddart with: your name, job title, authority and say which of these locations you would be happy to travel to: Manchester, London, Birmingham.
SEMINAR - What Bikeability can do for your school - SIGN UP
The YST will be running a new seminar ‘Maximising What Bikeability Can do for Your Schools’ in November. This is a free seminar targeted at those engaged in the strategic planning of Bikeability from Local Authorities, private providers and SGO Host Schools.
