UPDATE -  2016 NATIONAL CONFERENCE - Friday 20th May

TABS co-hosting Cycle City, Active City
 
UPDATE - TABS Board members
On 3rd February the new Board had their first meeting. These will take place on a quarterly basis - am for Board admin, and pm for 'task and finish' sessions on relevant topics. Next month we will be sharing our initial ideas with you, asking for your suggestions and inviting you to join the working groups if you have relevant skills/knowledge. More information here on each TABS Director's areas of responsibility / member representation.

NEWS - Modeshare report
The  National STARS School Travel Awards Year 1 Delivery Report is now published, showing some great results - 346 schools have achieved STARS accreditation, and have reduced  their car use by an average of 16% between 2013/14 and 2014/15. Average cycling levels for all STARS accredited schools increased from 3.7% to 5.1% between 2013/14 and 2014/15

UPDATE - 2016.17 Membership renewals
The membership rates for 2016.17 (April to April) will remain the same as last year. TABS will be sending all members a renewal invoice within the next week.


TABS delegates (Gloucester) touring Skills Zone area

UPDATE - TABS / members activities  TABS has sent a presentation to the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group (APPCG), requesting a meeting. TABS sent information to Chris Green  MP  in advance of a debate re cycle funding on 3rd Feb, in response to information about cycle training. Details of this debate, including a transcript and summary highlights here. Robert Goodwill MP addressed the APPCG on 28th Jan - details here To note: Jo Somerset (BikeRight!) raised a question re Bikeability, and will be meeting separately with Ruth Cadbury MP to discuss further. TABS attended an Active Travel Seminar at the DfT in February exploring opportunities for better communication & collaboration amongst the sector. TABS Board members attended an SUD working group co-ordinated by TfL which has now produced national specifications for trainers.

Road Safety Trust grant programme - we'll be keeping an eye on any outcomes

BIkeability+ pilots report - great  to see this published now on Bikeability website - do read it - some very interesting, useful findings!

Check out these great videos produced by TABS member - Bristol City Council as part of the Bikeability+ pilot.
