2015 Bikeability training conference - FEEDBACK REPORT
Many thanks to all of you who provided feedback on the training conference. The prize draw (signed junior BC racing team cycle jersey and 30 TABS drawstring bags) was won by Martina on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council.
TABS has collated the results of the survey feedback from delegates. These are summarised in a short report alongside recommendations for future events. Download a copy of the report - click here.

MEMBER SURVEY - future regional training workshops - YOUR VIEWS?
Based on conference delegate feedback, TABS is investigating the potential to run further day-long regional sessions this year. We have compiled a member survey to get your views on what topics should be covered, where and when they should be held. Please help us to provide the training you want by completing this short survey by Friday 24th July 2015.  Click here to access the survey.

NB we are trying to keep costs as low as possible to attend training sessions - we are therefore looking for offers of venues - if you think you might be able to offer a venue PLEASE complete the relevant section in the survey or contact directly.

TABS Director, David Shannon has negotiated a free place for all TABS members at Sustainable Transport: Beyond 2015 conference – Tues 8th September, London. For further details / information on how to apply click here.
TABS is convening a small group to brainstorm the format and purpose of a future ‘advocacy’ event for TABS – to promote Bikeability and the work that we all do - further details in the next newsletter.
TABS Director, David Dansky, recently spoke on behalf of TABS at the Freight Transport Association conference re. widening the reach of Bikeability training as well as the importance of training drivers. He is also currently working with a series of driving schools re. education of instructors.
2015 Bikeability School survey - UPDATE
TABS will shortly be sending an email out to all participating schools reminding them to complete the follow-up survey before the end of term. These results will be shared with members in due course, building on the data collected in 2014 - watch this space!

NB - TABS has also just started a Tweet 'series' over the next couple of weeks of pupil quotes from the 2014/15 Bikeability School Travel Survey (October / November 14) @ #Bikeabilitytaughtme  - do retweet / favourite to spread the word!

Listen here to a cycle training discussion from Velo-City - John Dales and Angela Van Der Kloof give their views on the importance on cycle training – Angela teaches cycling to immigrants to the Netherlands, and she also talks about children’s cycle training in the Netherlands, which is part and parcel of general road safety training.

On the subject of videos, TABS has provided feedback on a series of Bikeability videos currently being produced by the Bikeability Support Team - watch this space!

TABS submitted an Expression of Interest to Carplus to bid for funding to develop training outcomes and riding guidance for riding an Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC).We have been invited to the next stage to submit a full bid.
