Working Party at Grace Fellowship
Friday 19 November from 10.00am onwards
It is a blessing to be able to use Grace Fellowship church in Little Stukeley at this time. There are a number of practical jobs that need doing on site. If you are free and available on Friday 19 November then please consider joining others to get some of these done. Please email John Stevens if you are able to be there. (johnstevens@dsl.pipex.com)
GBC Toolbox Training
The various Toolbox events continue. Details are available here.
‘Being Human’ has been rescheduled to start this evening (11 November) and will be face to face at GBC rather than on Zoom. All welcome - please let the Office know if you plan to come. Listen to the podcast in advance of the meeting, which starts at 8.00pm.
The Book Club, which is discussing Max Lucado’s new book “You Are Never Alone”, isn't on this Friday (12 November), but meets again the following week.
7.30pm Monday 22 November on Zoom
Papers will be sent out to church members tomorrow.  Links to access the meeting on Zoom and also to the voting form will be sent out next week.
Please bring all completed shoeboxes to the church office by tomorrow (Friday 12 November), along with £2 per box for postage (if you are able) and ensure that each box has a filled in leaflet attached. Please only bring cash (no cheques) as we will aim to send one amount to Amen ministries to cover the cost of postage for all boxes from GBC. In this time of global need, let’s get packing and bless some families in Romania this Christmas!

Advent Windows Trail
There will be an Advent Window trail again this year. Twenty-four windows in Godmanchester will be decorated through December for display on the allotted day. Please contact Daniel Beckett if you would like to host one of the decorated windows (either preparing it yourself or displaying someone else's creation).  If you live outside of Godmanchester and would like to create a display for someone else to use please also let Daniel know.
Mark 4: 9 - Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
Do you glance rather than gaze?
Do you scroll rather than seek?
Do you visit rather than dwell?
Why not try Quiet Reflection?
During November our “ROOM TO REFLECT” will focus on “I am the Gate” John 10: 9
There is a two bedroomed house to let in Godmanchester from the middle of November. If you are interested please contact the church office on 01480 458565
There is a charity shop in Peterborough, linked to the Anglo-Indian Concern Charity, and profits are donated to Christian work in Africa and to Pastor David Shrimpton's work in Chennai, South India. Stuart Harwood-Clark is coming to Godmanchester next Friday afternoon, 19 November, to pick up donations for the shop from Rachel Thurley's house.  Please contact Rachel on 454736 if you have anything to donate.  Thanks.
While we hold some of our activities at GBC and Grace Fellowship, we need to continue to follow sensible guidelines about keeping ourselves and others safe. This includes asking people:
  • not to attend if they have Covid symptoms,
  • to sanitise hands on arrival and during their time on the premises, and
  • to wear a mask when moving around the building (can be removed when seated)
We will also have to limit numbers for capacity reasons and have implemented a booking system for our Sunday morning worship service. To book for this coming Sunday, use the link above. It may be that demand exceeds available spaces so those trying to book later may receive a 'full' response. We will try to manage this by asking people who are present one week to not book in for the following week until the Friday - to give others a chance to book spaces - BUT IF THERE ARE SPACES AVAILABLE ON FRIDAY, GO AHEAD AND BOOK.
For those unable to use online booking, please phone the church office on 01480 458565 from Tuesday morning and we can book your space for you.
The Churches Together AGM will take place at 7.30pm next Wednesday (17 November) at the Methodist Church, Huntingdon, and it will include a tour of the new extension at the Methodist Church. All are welcome.
The Worship Area and Resources Room remain out of bounds while the building work continues. Please do not access GBC through the side entrance opposite Brian Searle's garage. In the event of an emergency and a need to vacate the building, exit through the fire door in the kitchen and make your way to the front car park - avoid using the fire door in the Worship Area foyer.
