From 19 September we plan to hold our Sunday morning Celebration services live in the building at Grace Fellowship. In Matthew 16:15 Jesus challenges his disciples with this question “Who do you say I am?”  What would be your reply?  Will you give yourself time and space to listen and discover more about who Jesus is? In the month of September in our “Room to Reflect” we will focus on “I am the bread of life”. Our “Room to Reflect” is open on Fridays between 9.00am and 1.00pm. You can book to come at other times if you cannot make it on Fridays – please contact the church office.

On Saturday 18 September, from 10.00am-1.00pm, we will be getting the building ready for the term ahead. We will be carrying out our PAT testing of electrical items and 'spring' cleaning. If you are able to help with cleaning, moving small items around the building or administration eg recording items that have been PAT tested on lists provided then please let Daniel know.
Godmanchester Community Sponsorship Refugee Project
Karen Smith writes, 'You may have heard that GBC intends to sponsor a second family, hopefully in early 2022. With the Afghan crisis in the news, this is all the more urgent. I am putting together a new team (with some of the existing team) and I am looking for new team members to get involved. I already have interest and volunteers from the wider community but we need you. Do you fancy being part of the team that meets a refugee family at the airport and takes them to their new home to build a new life, as we did in this picture in March 2019? If so, I would love to hear from you.

Anyone is welcome but particularly if you: are familiar with the education system; have DIY skills; could support a family to access and use IT; could help with setting up and paying for utilities and broadband; have experience, knowledge or interest in ESOL or would like to train as an ESOL teacher; are Arabic speaking; could help with budgeting and banking; could help with resourcing the house by finding donated furniture and homeware or purchasing stuff; have admin skills;  Please email me on karen@btwt.org.uk or phone me on 07863 299545 to volunteer or for a chat or more info.
Men's Breakfast
8.00am Saturday 11 September
at The Barley Mow, Hartford
Colin Hardy writes, 'At last we are able to resume our Men’s Breakfasts at The Barley Mow! Please bring a face mask with you as we will need to comply with whatever Covid rules are in place. Footballer Junior McDougald will be speaking on "A game of 2 halves". Cost £10. Email cjhardy@ntlworld.com by Tuesday 7 September to book.'
How does God act when his people disobey him by trusting their own judgement?  What does it mean to ask God for an "undivided heart"?  What lessons can we learn from the experiences of Solomon and of his descendants who ruled over a divided nation? These are some aspects that the Precepts Bible study group will be looking at when they begin studying 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles this coming term. The group will meet via Zoom on Thursdays at 10.00am, beginning on 9 September, and we have planned occasional socials at different venues. With the start of a fresh study topic this would be a good time for new people to join us.  Come and learn how to use inductive study methods to enhance your understanding of the Biblical text and benefit your Christian life. Please contact Eileen Campbell for further details.  e.campbell45@yahoo.co.uk or 01480 456522
