Tomorrow (Christmas Eve)
10.00am: Messy Brunch Walk

Meet at GBC at 10.00am and follow a trail to Bethlehem (otherwise known as St Anne's Primary School, Godmanchester!), meeting various characters from the Christmas story along the way.  Drinks and pastries in the playground to finish.

6.00pm: Open Air Carol Service
In the playground at St Anne's School, Godmanchester

Christmas Day service
A pre-recorded broadcast to be shown at 10.00am on our YouTube channel which will then be available to watch later.

New Year Celebration - Looking Forward Led by Tony Goodwin

BOOKING REQUIRED: To book your place please click here. We will ensure that there is good ventilation - please feel free to bring a blanket! Because of the changing Covid situation, we are now keeping a seating plan at Grace Fellowship.  We'll do this by taking photos - which we will keep for 3 weeks and then delete.
The service will be available on our YouTube channel later in the day

There will be no children's or youth events today.

The monthly prayer meeting will take place next week (9 January) as part of our January Prayer Week - see separate notice.
John and Stephanie Brown are delighted to announce the birth of their granddaughter Abigail Clara Brown on 22 December to Mark and Gemma Brown.
Advent Window Trail
Today and tomorrow (23 & 24 December) the window at Godmanchester Baptist Church will be lit up and you can visit any or all of the other winows on the trail!. All the windows will be lit up from 4.00-9.00pm tonight and tomorrow. There will be a question to answer about each window and there will be prizes for completed question sheets. Addresses and the questions for each day are available on the website.  
A Message from Carolyn
Dear Church Family,
I wanted to thank you so much for the warmth of your welcome, your generosity and the many encouragements I have received over these past 2 months at the church (I can't believe it's only 2 months!) It genuinely has been a privilege and a delight to serve among you. I am excited about what God is doing in and through GBC, and what he has planned for us in the future, as we partner together with him. I was reminded this morning that he is the God 'who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.' That's certainly my testimony as I look back over this year of change! I wish you all a blessed Christmas and pray that you will know the Lord's presence, peace, joy, rest and enabling, now and through the coming year.

Just a note to say that Philip and Jenny Thompson's landline is now working again.
The Church Office will be closed from the end of  today, Thursday 23 December, and will reopen on Tuesday 4 January. If you have a pastoral emergency during that time, please contact either Daniel Beckett (07909 767505) or Carolyn Keats (07763 347119).

Our Week of Prayer will be held on Zoom each day at various times from
Monday 3 January through to Sunday 9 January.
Please contact the
Office for the Zoom link which will be the same for each session, each of which is for one hour.  Contact us by the end of Sunday 2 January and we'll get the link to you before the first session on Monday 3 January!

On Saturday 8 January we will meet at GBC at 9.00am for a prayer walk
which will finish at 10.30am.

Work Day | Saturday 8 January | 11.00am-2.00pm
Can you help for any or all of the above times?  We will meet at GBC at 11.00am and allocate tasks to be carried out here and at Grace Fellowship.  Tasks will include: clearing up after Christmas, moving items between the sites, general tidying and cleaning ready for next term.  If you know that you will be able to help, please let Daniel know as that will help with planning.  Many thanks.

Alpha Course
We plan to run an Alpha course on Tuesday evenings from 8 February at GBC. Please pray for this and give thought to whom you might invite. For further information, contact Carolyn.

While we hold some of our activities at GBC and Grace Fellowship, we need to continue to follow sensible guidelines about keeping ourselves and others safe. This includes asking people:
  • not to attend if they have Covid symptoms,
  • to sanitise hands on arrival and during their time on the premises, and
  • to wear a mask in the building  
We will also have to limit numbers for capacity reasons and have implemented a booking system for our Sunday morning worship service. For those unable to use online booking, please phone the church office on 01480 458565 from Tuesday morning and we can book your space for you.
The Worship Area and Resources Room remain out of bounds while the building work continues. Please do not access GBC through the side entrance opposite Brian Searle's garage. In the event of an emergency and a need to vacate the building, exit through the fire door in the kitchen and make your way to the front car park - avoid using the fire door in the Worship Area foyer.
