Sundays at Green Gulch


Green Gulch Farm is located just north of San Francisco, in a Marin County valley that opens out onto the Pacific Ocean. Not only is it a main source of our produce we use at the restaurant but it is also a Buddhist practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition. Greens Restaurant and Green Gulch Farms are siblings, of sorts. We are both owned by the San Francisco Zen Center. One of the farm's greatest features is that Sundays at the farm are open to the public. For a $15 donation you can have meditation instruction, a dharma talk, tea, discussion with the lecturer and a delicious vegetarian lunch. It's a great way to spend a Sunday morning!  

Supplier Spotlight: Hodo Soy


Hodo means "good bean" in Chinese and that is the cornerstone of Hodo Soy's philosphy: By using ‘good beans’ they will make good products and when they act as a ‘good bean’ they grow good communities and attract good people. Based in Oakland under the direction of founder Minh Tsai, Hodo Soy has a mission to craft the highest quality tofu that will forever change the way you know tofu. We use Hodo Soy's freshly made organic tofu in several of our dishes, most notably, our Grilled Brochettes. We are grateful to have them in the Bay Area.
