Welcome to our February e-Newsletter!
Rolling out before training

When there is no land before the session we would like all swimmers to arrive poolside 20 minutes before the session starts and roll out. Rolling out prior to every session will assist all swimmers with their flexibility and make achieving the splits much easier, as well as assisting with certain figures.
Aquavision at London Aquatics Centre
Over February half term Aquavision held a camp at the London Aquatics centre, 24 girls were in attendance show casing their synchronised swimming skills.
Despite the pool being slightly cooler and longer than they were used to all girls enjoyed themselves.

Regular training takes place on Thursdays, swimmers are to arrive poolside for 7.30pm for a land warm up prior to getting into the pool at 8pm.
All members planning on attending are encouraged to go via public transport, as the car park is number plate recognition, however one hour is free of charge, 1-2hours is £1.50.
Swimmers are reminded that ALL bags are to be locked in the lockers provided, refundable £1, only swimming and land equipment is required poolside.

London Young Volunteer Day - 21st February 2015

Rebecca Bury attended the first London Volunteer Day for 14-25 year olds on Saturday 21st February. The day provided formal and informal aquatics training where Rebecca completed the young aquatics helper training as well as SCUK child protection training. Rebecca will utilise the skills she picked up on the day by volunteering with Aquavision on a Wednesday at Waltham Forest College 6-7pm.

Volunteer Training
Debbie Harris has been attending National Judge Training in Loughborough over a number of weekends, we are pleased to say that she has successfully passed this course, passing all 3 examinations and is now officially a National Judge.

Also congratulations to Carolyn Crowe, Rachel Crowe, Monika Strzalkowska and Frances Short who successfully passed the basic assessor training at the end of January. Also to Sarah Kelley who successfully passed the assessor training and basic judge course.
However despite the recent success at courses we still require more parents to get involved and volunteer. There are a large range of courses available from scorer, to assessor and team manager so if you can spare some time please volunteer and support the growth and development of Aquavision, the swimmers need you!!
