2ND AND 5TH GRADE PARENTS

Dear 2nd and 5th grade Parents!
Be on the Lookout for a backpack o’gram yesterday or today on a bright sheet of paper.  It tells all about our Festival of the Book visiting author, Arsia Rozegar.  He is an author/illustrator, and has written a series of graphic novels based on Persian mythology.  If you’d like your child to have an autographed copy of any of his books, he has set up a page on his website just for Virginia Festival of the Book.  http://shahnamehforkids.com/vabook

Be sure to use the promo code VABOOK to eliminate shipping.  We are excited to have Mr. Rozegar this year!

Yours in Reading,
Mrs. Waterbury

THANK YOU TO THE HILL FAMILY FOR OUR FLOWERS!

5th grader Julia Hill has an uncle in North Carolina who is a flower farmer.  He recently sent 250 flower bulbs to plant at Julia's school.  Thanks sincerely to Terra Ceia Farms for brightening up Murray's front entrance even though we'll have to wait a while for the flowers to emerge!    www.TerraCeiaFarms.com

MURRAY'S GOT TALENT SHOW 2020!

CALLING ALL BOX TOPS!

Our next tally is February 28 (this Friday!) so send into school any clipped Box Tops, scan your store receipts or email your online receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.  If you're not ready to scan your receipts, send them into school and we'll do it for you.  You don't even have to know whether you've purchased a Box Top product because the app will figure it out for us!  Easy!

The class with the most credited Box Tops will be our next Box Tops Champs and house the trophy in their classroom until our next winner is announced in June.

AND, by scanning your receipt, you enter yourself into TWO Box Top Sweepstakes running until the end of this month.  Your receipt could bring in 5,000 Box Tops for Murray and/or a $50 VISA gift card for YOU!  Don't miss out on this opportunity to earn extra cash for our Mustangs.

LUMINARY IS LOOKING FOR SUBMISSIONS!

It’s that time of year again…

V.L. Murray’s literary magazine LUMINARY is looking for works of art, poetry, and stories from our creative kids for this year’s magazine.

If you’ve spotted an interesting piece of work from your child, submit it to the office for possible inclusion in LUMINARY! Include your child’s name, grade and teacher along with it. LUMINARY will choose one piece of art from all the submissions to decorate the cover of the magazine. No need to include the LUMINARY name on art as we will add that ourselves.

Submissions are due to the office by April 30 at the latest.

Feel free to email any questions to Caroline Hirst at carolinevt2000@yahoo.com. We can’t wait to see what our talented, unique, fun children
create!
