It's been a busy 2016 for Rorus!
The Rorus team is returning from SXSW where we won the SXSW Accelerator Pitch Competition in the "Innovative World Technologies" category. We also took home the "Trend of the Event" award (prior winners being Pinterest and Groupme!) for embodying the emergence of ventures that have made civic engagement a priority.
We have also been chosen as one of 10 winners for $10,000 in the Infosys Infymakers Challenge. Click here to see Corinne drink water from a toilet through our personal filter.
And finally, we're now in the investment portfolio of First Round Capital's Dorm Room Fund. Check out the funding announcement here.
A lot of these successes can be attributed to our recent product development efforts. We now have independent lab verification of our filters to WHO standards, which allowed us to run a pilot with Emmanuel Hospital Association last month. Corinne and Uriel spend two weeks in February deploying filters for 50 people in rural, northern India. We'll be receiving monthly updates from EHA's program manager to see how they do in the field over the coming year.
