A Mitzvah Family Spotlight

Bayley Temes

Black and white and gorgeous all over!

Bayley Temes celebrated her Bat Mitzvah on September 5, 2015, with a Havdallah service, followed by a party at The Supreme Event Venue.  The theme of the party was black and white and the family asked all of the guests to wear black and white to fit in with the theme.

The photographer for the event was Cliq Creative.

This beautiful invitation set the tone for this gorgeous black and white event.

Following in the black and white theme, Bayley wore this beautiful dress for her Havdallah service before changing into her party dress later.

The family had a personalized Havdallah service.  Danya Borenstein helped choose prayers that were meaningful to Bayley and special prayers were chosen for her parents and grandparents.

200 black and white penguin gummies were placed in cellophane bags and tied with black and white ribbon to be thrown at Bayley after she finished reading her Haftorah portion.

The service concluded with a "camp style" Havdallah, with everyone forming a large circle in the back of the room.

Instead of traditional seating cards, this family used these elegant seating boards to allow their guests to find their tables.

Keeping with the black and white theme, the tables were covered in beautiful black and white damask table cloths, as well there were white flowers in black vases on each table.

The Magen Boys provided the music and entertainment, with MC Jesse Glowinsky.  They were also dressed in black and white custom shirts.

Even the dance floor had a personal touch with the letter "B" in black and white.

Bayley changed into her pink party dress before returning to join her guests with the Hora.

The Bat Mitzvah girl had her very own "princess chair" to call her own all night.

Bayley's guests were asked to sign a custom sign in book, which Mom, Tamara created.

Guests were treated to some of Bayley's favourite treats, including Bubble tea and Dairy Queen blizzards.  Custom labels were used for both of these yummy treats.

These great giveaways were available to the kids on the dance floor.

This beautiful cake, in black and white, perfectly describes who Bayley is with all of the descriptive words about her on the middle tier of the cake.

The beautiful black and white theme even flowed into the photo booth pictures.  The black and white pictures really pop with the frame of black and white damask and a pop of pink.

For the candle lighting ceremony, Bayley and her immediate family lit all of the candles and then had Bayley's friends come up to blow them out.

Bayley is surrounded by all of her friends who helped her celebrate her Bat Mitzvah.

Milk and chocolate milk never looked so delicious as accompanied by black and white donut holes and black and white striped straws.

All of Bayley's guests were given a bag of bagels as they left.  What a great idea to nosh on, on the way home, or save for breakfast!

Mitzvah Project:  Bayley decided to donate backpacks for children that were attending a pilot camp called "Camp Lifeline".  This was a day camp for children ages 2-5 who could not go to regular camp because of certain health issues.  Bayley shopped for items and filled the backpacks with those items they could use during the summer and at camp such as insulated straw cups, bubbles, swim towels, hats, umbrellas, crayons and colouring books, and sunscreen to name a few of the items.  Bayley then wrote a letter and attached it to each bag.

Simcha Mom Advice:  Mom, Tamara says, "As a party planner by trade, I wrote an article about planning Bayley's Bat Mitzvah, which you can read here."
