Dear Cathy,

Yes it's that time of year again (no we're not talking about Wimbledon) your CDC Digest has arrived! This issue has a special focus on the participation of disabled children and young people to tie in with our social media campaign celebrating the power of participation. We hope you've been joining in online! If not, there's still time to use the hashtag and let us know what #participationmeans to you.

We've rolled together all the latest news from the sector in one neat little package to get you up to speed. In this issue you have:

  • An update on the support funded by the Department for Education to implement the SEND reforms in 2016-2017.

  • An article from SIBS and Family Fund looking at the barriers faced by siblings of disabled children.

  • Three new case law updates from Steve Broach looking at breaches of human rights, school transport duties and what education means post-18.

  • A spotlight on NHS England's new project to empower children and young people with autism to make decisions about their lives.

  • Member Focus - looking at The Children's Sleep Charity's work supporting families of children with autism to get a good night's sleep.

All this along with the usual updates on policy announcements, training, events and resources.

Click the button below to read and download the Digest. Don't forget to share it with contacts if you think it will come in handy.

Have a fantastic rest of the week!

Best wishes,
