Advocate for your profession this month!

Members – please remember to advocate for your profession this month! KATS is trying to focus on getting ATs registered as Stop the Bleed instructors so that we can be a community resource to teach this important information. Attached you will find several documents to utilize this month including the social media contest with associated rules relating for taking or teaching a class Stop the Bleed – this is your chance to win free KATS Symposium Registration for November 2019. If you are teaching a class that is open to the public or you think would be a good media piece, there is a media advisory attached that you can fill in with your personal information.  This is recommended to go to your media contacts a week before the event and a reminder the day before.

If you are unable to take or teach a Stop the Bleed class in March, you can also participate by utilizing the provided Letter to the Editor template. This is a simple ten minute task – you will need to update the attached Letter for the Editor with your personal information, find your local newspaper editors, and email/send it. Please do these in PDF format, include your name, contact info and offer to also be a contact point for them for National Athletic Training Month and/or anything related to our profession. Any connection will be valuable in the future.

If you have any questions please let Karen Garrison, Karen.garrison@washburn.edu, know. It’s important for us to advocate for ourselves!
Thanks,
-KATS Executive Board
