LIVING WATERS VACANT POSITIONS 2017 - 2018

The Nominations Committee of Living Waters Presbytery is currently seeking people to fill a number of leadership positions.  Please prayerfully consider how you might use your gifts to provide leadership in Living Waters Presbytery and in the wider Church.

For further information on the vacant positions available, please contact Bruce Chappell, chair of Nominations at bruce@chappellfarms.ca

REMITS

It is vitally important that the governing body of every pastoral charge and presbytery cast a vote on all applicable remits. An absolute majority is needed for the remits to pass, not just a majority of those that vote. If passed by an absolute majority, each remit will go to the 43rd General Council 2018 for approval. If a governing body of a pastoral charge or presbytery does not vote, that is considered a vote AGAINST the remit question.

The deadlines for communities of faith are:
  • Remits 1, 2, 3, and 4: votes must be received by 30 June 2017
  • Remit 6: votes must be received by 28 February 2018
For more information as well as study guides, visit the GC42 remit site.

Watch for notice of information sessions in Living Waters Presbytery coming in the Spring.  If you have any questions about the process, you can contact Jody Maltby at jmaltby@united-church.ca
LIVING WATERS PRESBYTERY CHAPLAINS

"A four year old child, whose neighbor was an elderly gentleman, had recently lost his wife.  Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old man's yard, climbed on his lap and just sat there.  When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

If in your busy lives, you find you need to talk to someone or have a visit, we are available to meet with you.  We may even help you cry.

It is with great pleasure we announce that Carole Bennett, from Islington United Church, has been selected to participate in the Mission & Service Global Pilgrimage to Kenya in 2017.

Upon her return Carole will be given opportunities to share her experience and learning.  We are excited that Carole will be our Conference’s representative and look forward to working with her to share her story.

RAINBOW MAKERS stained glass specializes in making and restoring Memorial stained glass since 1979.

And since then we have been upgrading our new and restored stained glass windows to include insulated glass and our narrow profile insulated aluminium vents.

Our approach is to remove the stained glass to be restored or refurbished and where the stained glass was installed, we install new insulated thermal panes and aluminium screened vents. In essence we create a new modern window but we use your wood or stone frame.

We reinstall your stained glass against the thermal pane from the inside, and in most cases use the original moldings. You can imagine the congregational benefits of having a draft free church with modern thermally insulated glass and vents. Heat loss and condensation will be eliminated, future maintenance costs and your heating cost will be drastically reduced.

We are proud of our Memorial windows and can provide numerous examples of our work.  Each  new or restored window installed with thermal panes and our own aluminium vents since 1985.
